Welcome to the website of the Active Faith Communities Programme (AFC).

Active Faith Communities Programme manages and encourages activities to promote good community relations and community cohesion. We also provide information, advice and mentoring to faith-based community programmes and projects in West Yorkshire.

AFC's community cohesion team works to help develop understanding and positive relationships between people of different communities and backgrounds.

We have six years experience of running projects that help to develop good community relations; some are in particular neighbourhoods, some for particular groups, while others are city-wide or region wide.

AFC works with faith communities and faith-based organisations across West Yorkshire that develop and enhance the lives of others in their communities. Whether the need is to explore an idea or vision, or to develop an existing organisation AFC’s friendly and practical experts can provide workshops, mentoring, advice and support on issues as diverse as identifying needs in your community, funding, business planning, developing policies and procedures and managing change.

AFC’s local knowledge is also used to inform and influence regional and national programmes and policies.
