About Us

Established in 2002, The Active Faith Communities Programme aims to maximise the capacity of faith communities to develop and enhance lives in their neighbourhoods.

AFC offers advice and support, mentoring, workshops events, networking opportunities to support embryonic and existing projects to enable them to respond better to the needs of their local communities.

AFC also manages specific initiatives that may serve as pilots or models for further development such as the Intercultural Communications and Leadership School.

AFC works to raise the profile of faith-based organisations and the value of their contribution to the community and to inform and influence regional and national decision-making based on this local experience and connection.

Underpinning this work is a shared ethos of respect, partnership and commitment to the wider community.
